Further to my recent project where I recreated an ad while illustrating a vehicle from the Movin On TV series, http://opticalodysseys.blogspot.com/2020/05/freightliner-ad.html I am hoping to create a piece in coloured pencil following the same theme. This is the start of it, the White Freightliner is just about complete. The episode I am basing this drawing on was from season one, and that episode was titled “High Rollers”. The final rendering will depict this truck and the W900 of Sonny and Will and the two main characters, Sonny and Will, as well.
Daydream (Complete)
Thanks again to Erin Mercer for modelling and to Nathan Cyprus for his expertise as a photographer. I added a roe for interest and settled on Daydream as a title. Acrylic on masonite. 24” x 18”.

Another coloured pencil project, this is a depiction of a Chevy Titan 90, cousin of the GMC Astro 95. Trucks made an early impression on me and has stayed with me ever since my childhood fascination with them. 11 x 14.

A New Ayrton Senna Work
I managed to start on a new portrayal of Ayrton Senna. This will be a collage with a couple of head images and his MP4/7. The pen drawing of his car is from 20 years ago and I will recycle it into this image, likely in colour.
1969 Kenworth K-100 in Pencil
A small drawing of what I think is a ’69 K-100 because the grab bar is short and there is no stepladder behind the cab door, only the foot support under the door. My favourite era is basically before the Nineties, especially when Cabovers were plentiful. 7.5" x 5". Pencil on paper.

Nigel Mansell Newman Haas Lola
This piece is complete. 11.125” x 8.125”. Acrylic on Board.
Nigel Mansell Red 5
I started another small acrylic depicting Mansell the Lola T93/00 for Newman Haas Racing. Mansell became the only driver in history to hold both the Formula One and CART championships at the same time. I’ve also included his Williams FW11 from the 1986 season.
Vector Vette
I’m enjoying the process of creating this digital vector work with Adobe Illustrator. It’s still a WIP, I’ll tweak it as I go. Not sure whether to show it facing right or left. If facing left then I will have to tweak the position of the steering wheel. Rims need work, too blue at the moment. Need to add a hood and side emblem as well.

This was strictly a time filler for pleasure. I hadn’t used coloured pencils for years so I pulled them out and sketched up this VW Surf Bus. It’s only 6” x 4” on bond paper.
